Smart Games for Kids - Preschool

DAY & NIGHT

At night, when it’s dark, you can only see silhouettes, so the “night” side of each challenge only gives you the outline of what you have to create, like a very simple tangram. Without the booklet this toy makes also a great stacking game for children under age 3, because it doesn’t contain any small parts.

BUNNY (PEEK A) BOO

Try to place big, sturdy wooden blocks together with the cute rabbit in the right way, so that the result matches the challenge card. This is a great way to explore concepts like above/below, inside/ outside, etc.

THREE LITTLE PIGGIES

Fit 3 puzzle pieces on the game board so that the 3 piggies are hidden inside their houses when there is a wolf (24 challenges) or play outside when there is no wolf (also 24 challenges).

TRUCKY 3

This puzzle game comes with three trucks with see-through cargo holds. The trucks need to pick up packages, but will the load fit? There are 10 blocks in different shapes and colors, and each challenge tells kids what blocks to use. Kids have to figure out how to make the blocks fit in one or more trucks.

CAMELOT JR

Although  both game share a similar theme and box, Camelot Junior is a completely different puzzle game than CastleLogix. Using the indicated pieces with each of the 48 graded challenges, the object is to build a pathway so that the knight can walk over to rescue the princess.

CASTLE LOGIX

CastleLogix is a single player construction challenge. You need to assemble the wooden blocks and towers into one of the challenge pictures provided in the games booklet. Build the finest castles but watch out that one tower doesn't block another!

SMARTCAR 5x5

There are four wooden pieces that you need to assemble into a car. This is the only wooden SmartGame where you need to think in 3 dimensions, with challenges that only show a side view or top view.

The new SmartCar 5x5 version (updated in 2016) now includes a fifth block and extra challenges.

I designed following puzzle games for young children. The age mentioned on the box is only an indication, because every child is different. When it says 3+, it means that kids of that age can start solving the challenges of the STARTER-level (with a little guidance from an adult).

It doesn’t mean that a child of that age will be able to solve all 48 challenges! Because of the progressive difficulty of the challenges these games will evolve in step with your child’s growing skills. This way the game will stay interesting for a long time.
